USDOT Number Template Format | How To Display Your USDOT Number & Trucking Information Professionally
Displaying your USDOT number professionally outside of your commercial vehicle is one of the most important things you need to do as a professional truck driver.
You must display your legal trucking business name and your assigned USDOT number. We also recommend displaying the city and state that you are based out of, this is because there are many companies with the same business names and it makes it easier to identity.
Also, if you have an MC number we suggest displaying that below your USDOT number.
If you are doing business in California (CA) or KYU we also suggest displaying those respectively.
In addition, we recommend you display your GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight) and the last 8 digits of your VIN number.
Why do you need to display so much information?
Displaying all of the information that is applicable to you makes it easier when you get stopped by DOT, when you pass through truck scales or weigh stations and helps you save time through the course of your trucking career.
If you have any questions, we would be more than happy to help.
