Do you know the basics for displaying your USDOT & commercial truck lettering decals? If no, we’re here to help!

Your commercial lettering must be at least 2 inches in height, but we always recommend going bigger. The color of your lettering must contrast with the color of your vehicle. If you have a white truck you want dark lettering. If you have a dark colored vehicle you want light colored lettering.

All of your regulation numbers must be displayed on both sides of your commercial power unit. They must be clearly visible from a minimum distance of 50 feet.

Following these guidelines will help you save time whenever passing through weigh stations or whenever you get pulled in for a DOT inspection.
