Displaying your US DOT number correctly is key to being DOT compliant. You must display the letters “US” before “DOT”, it should read like this “US DOT” or “USDOT”. Also, you must make sure you add your state abbreviation after your unique number that is given to you by the FMCSA & DOT. A motor carrier in California would display their USDOT like this
